Tibetan Buddhist Prayer flags | Lungta

Lung-ta is the Wind horse depicted in the center of these prayer flags (lung means 'wind' in Tibetan language). On his back is the symbol of the Wish fulfilling Jewel. The Wind horse symbolizes good luck, fortune and well-being for nature, animals, humans and society as a whole.

Around the Wind horse are 4 mythical animals in the Buddhist pantheon: top-left is a Garuda, top-right a Naga, bottom-left a Snow lion, bottom-right a Tiger. The English text on the left and right side expresses the meaning of the mantras printed in the center column.
