Hand painted resin statues depict the bodhisattva of compassion and wisdom, Tara. There are 21 forms of Tara in total and here she is shown as the Green Tara in a standing position with her hands in the varada mudra (blessing pose.) The Dalai Lama has talked of the goddess Tara in terms of a feminist movement and he states that she vowed to always be reborn as a woman so that when she attains Buddhahood, it will be as a woman.
