Edonishiki Tsuya Incense (220 Sticks)

Edonishiki Tsuya incense is a Japanese incense made by Nippon Kodo. This incense takes inspiration from the Edo period in Japan from 1603 CE to 1868 CE. Also known as the Edo Tokugawa period, it was founded by Tokugawa Ieyasu and was famous for its Samurai warriors.

The Edonishiki Tsuya incense is made from Japanese Binchō-tan charcoal, which creates less smoke when it's burned. The fragrance of the incense is complex, featuring a silky, tart aroma with a sweet powdery scent. It has got notes of vanilla and cloves and was the scent that was inspired by Japanese Sumo wrestlers who used a wax called Bintsuke abura in their hair.

The packaging is Japanese inspired too and features a pink flower shaped Edo Komon design - a single traditional pattern that’s repeated. The design was popular with the Samurai society and is still seen today.
