This is a stunningly beautiful, hand made wall-hanging of Green Tara, hand painted and framed by craftsmen from Nepal.
Green Tara is easily identified by her one leg outstretched, ready for swift action and the position of her hands. Her left hand is in the mudra of protection whilst the right assumes the mudra of giving.
The Dalai Lama has talked of the goddess Tara in terms of a feminist movement, and he states that she vowed to always be reborn as a woman so that when she attains Buddhahood, it will be as a woman.
