White Tara is a female manifestation of enlightened energy and is very popular in Tibetan Buddhism. Characteristic of her appearance are the seven eyes in her head, palms and soles of the feet and she sits in a complete lotus position. In her left hand she holds the stem of a white lotus. Reciting the mantra of White Tara has a restorative effect on body and mind - Om tare tuttare ture mama ayur punye gyana pushtim kuruye soha.
